George stepped down as Chair of Herne Hill Forum in March 2022, having completed his fourth year in the role. He will continue as an active committee member and is looking forward to helping to make our neighbourhood as accessible and welcoming as possible.
Over the last few years, we have achieved a lot. Highlights are the Underpass renovation with a mural painted by 2,332 neighbours and the creation of Station Hall, a community hub above Herne Hill Station. But it is the smaller projects George is most proud of: repainting the ‘Herne Hill – Walk this Way’ mural, maintaining the kids’ train in Station Square, keeping the street-piano tuned and providing the Charter School with over fifty computers donated by the community during the pandemic.
We are very grateful to George and would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his hard work and enthusiasm over the last four years.
