We’re looking for friendly, outgoing and reliable people with a passion for Herne Hill to volunteer as Community Ambassadors at the community stall. Your main responsibility will be talking to and listening to people who visit the stall. This is quite varied, it can be local issues, events and campaigns, volunteer opportunities etc.
You’ll also be the main point of contact on the day for our wonderful stall assistants (16-19 year olds who set up and pack away the stall and run the children’s craft activity), and for the volunteers from local community groups and charities who use the space.
The stall is part of Herne Hill market which is on Sundays. We run the community stall every two weeks. The upcoming dates are 20 November, 11 December, 15 January and 29 January. Each day is split into two sessions which are 9.45am-1pm or 1pm-4.15pm.
We’ve got a small team of Community Ambassadors and are looking for one or two more people to join us. We cover the dates on a rota basis and you’ll need to commit to around one session per month.
For more information, please read the volunteer description: Herne Hill Community Ambassador – Volunteer Description
We’d also love you to come along for a ‘taster’ session at any of our upcoming dates, so you can find out how it works and get a better feel for the role and whether it’s something you’d like to do.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please email Alice at admin@hernehillforum.org.uk. Let us know why you are interested in the role and why you would be good at it, and we can arrange a taster session. We look forward to hearing from you!
