This years Street Party will be on July 10th 2010.

POETS CORNER STREET PARTY 28 June

It'll be a grand event again with a Square each on Regent Road dedicated to Food, Children's games and Music.

The party starts at 1pm and will finish by 8.30pm.

Key things to remember:

·         Bring a dish to share and also bread. 

·         There will be BBQs so you can bring food to cook.

·         Let us know how many people you are bringing so we have an idea of numbers. You can join the event on facebook

·         Gazebos, chairs and tables are needed, bring along if you can.

·         Bring an old mug for tea

·         Volunteers are needed as we will be setting up from 10.30am in Regent Road and then clearing up from 8pm.  Email poetscornerbiglunch@gmail.com if you can help - OR just turn up. Extra pairs of hands are very welcome and much needed.

Regent Road residents:

-       There will be no parking on Regent Road beyond the junction with Meath House during the day, so please move your car. There's plenty of parking on Shakespeare Road now part of the controlled zone.

-       We will be decorating the street, but it would be great if people could decorate their front doors, e.g. balloons from letterboxes.

 We're after particular help on:

• • Cooking on the day - volunteers to provide details of dish if possible
  • Cutlery, paper cups and buckets.
  • Holding fort at the Bouncy Castle - for half an hour on a rota.

  • Serving soft drinks
  • Megaphone
  • Black/white board
  • Face painting
  • Entertaining
  • Street Decorations - contact Sarah and Annie Milton Rd, eg decorations, help putting them up and taking them down on the day 
    
  • Tables and Chairs - We have 6 tables, we'd like a couple more. Regent Road residents especially encouraged
  • BBQs - contact Sally Milton Road. We have 4 so far.
• help with setting up and/or clearing up -  contact Eli 23 Spencer Rd - we need volunteers to start around 1100 setting up
