Due to the severe shortage of places Lambeth has asked six primary schools to take an extra reception class in September 2009. Rosendale Primary School is one of those schools.

The school has not been expanded to become a four form entry, this arrangement is for 2009 only. The governing body has committed to a full consultation with the school community before any decision is taken to expand.

This announcement surprised many parents as the school community was not consulted about this request. Some parents who accepted places for September are dismayed that this information was with-held when they were choosing a school for their child.

So what will happen to children who go into this year's foundation class if the school does not expand accordingly? Will they be obliged to move again before Year 1?

Its really disgusting that Rosendale parents weren't consulted about this extra class entry. Who do Lambeth think they are? They should build a new school if more places are needed.
