Youth Mayor Fund - grants now available for youth projects
To organisations, groups and individuals working with young people,
The Youth Mayor Fund 2012 is now open for applications, and I am asking for your help in promoting this to any young people you might be working with.
Each year, the Youth Mayor with support from other youth council members allocates a total of £25,000 to projects for young people in Lambeth. Applications can be made for any amount up to £5,000, and funds can be used for any type of project as long as it positively benefits young people and meets our funding criteria. Last year, the funds were allocated to projects delivering self esteem workshops, a drama project for disabled young people, teenage pregnancy awareness workshops, club facilities and dance therapy.
This year we want to fund projects that go some way to help us achieve our collective aims. Those that can offer more events and learning opportunities for young people, help improve relationships with the older generation, and help young people to feel safer should apply. In fact, we want to hear from any project that wants to improve the lives of young people in Lambeth.
Applications must be led by young people aged between 11 – 19 years (or up to 25 with additional needs) who live, work or study in Lambeth, and should be supported by an adult.
To find out more, please visit www.younglambeth.org, email youthmayor@lambeth.org.uk or call 020 7926 2169.
The deadline for applications is Friday 10th August 2012
The successful projects will be announced in September.
Thanks for your support.
