The burglary pattern passed on from the Lambeth watch co- ordinator, "Two different types of burglaries that have recently become apparent.
There has been an increase in distraction burglaries over the past weeks in the Streatham Area
A male knocked on the victims front door and said he needed to turn the water off in the kitchen because he was doing some work next door and if she didn't it may flood. He said that he would come in and show her where the water needed to be turned off.
The victim knew that her neighbour was not in and shut the door. This method has been used before.
The suspect is described as male white, approx 20 years old, fair hair, fair skinned, blue eyes, wearing a grey sweater. If you get or have had any similar callers and not reported it please let me know
Also another burglary method is where sellotape is being placed over key holes, if you find this please report it to our safer neighbourhood team - http://www.met.police.uk/teams/lambeth/hernehill/index.php
