Cambria Choir

Hi all

Do you love to sing but think you cant and too afraid to try ?

The Cambria is starting up its own Cambria Choir. This will be a totally inclusive group , predominantly a pop choir but over the weeks singing all genres of music. You do not need to read music , you just need to be able to have fun, want to sing and love music.

The function room is completed, so we 'd like to start in October [ date to be confirmed ] on a Monday evening  from 7.30pm - 9pm weekly .

We don't know how many people will be interested, so please email back and let us know if you would like to be be part of this .

There will be a small fee per session of £5 and Sarah Fisher pianist / vocalist recently working with Hazel O'Connor and Lucy Davies singer song writer will be leading.

There has been positive feedback so far.

Please get back to us asap if interested.

Many Thanx

Sarah and Lucy.

Wheels For Wellbeing

Lido Pool opens

Brockwell Lido Opens Friday 7th May 2010

Brockwell Lido is opening on Friday 7th May for the 2010 summer season. The 50m pool has always been a great place to spend summer days, surrounded by Art Deco Grade II listed buildings which house a state of the art gym, spa and studio with an extensive group exercise programme. It’s one of London's few remaining outdoor swimming pools and now has a beautiful new café.

The water temperature is predicted to be toe numbing but according to Paul Maier Operations Manager for the Lido, the experience is energising and perfect for chilling out.  Swimmers can also read the quotes and comments local people have put forward as their memories of water which are now painted in hundreds of words around the walls of the pool.

The new café, nominated as one of London’s best places for coffee by Smooth Radio Love London Awards, now serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and the terrace overlooking the pool will be open for spectators and swimmers from 9.00am. As part of the opening weekend for the Lido summer season the Lido café will be hosting a Q and A with the group of film makers who shot 'breaking the ice' The film was shot on midwinter’s day when the pool was completely covered in ice, some of the people who took part in the event will be attending the screening, which will be at 8.30 pm on Sunday 9th.

Early dippers can jump in between 6.30 and 10am on weekdays, with a second daily session starting at 4pm finishing at 8pm.  Over the weekend opening times run from 10am to 6pm and will increase again from June to August.“If we do get the predicted barbecue summer then we may look at extending the opening times” says Paul.

Confirmation of pool opening times will be available on 0207 3465955 (24hrs) or 0207 2743088 (daytime) or visit the website at www.brockwell-lido.com.

Four months adult season tickets and early swim only tickets are now available or just visit on a day ticket. Those with disabilities, Over 60s and Under 5s can swim for free.  Concessions, family tickets and carnets also available.
