Vote on Police priorities
Safer Neighbourhood Teams - set their priorities
The Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Police teams work in the various wards in Lambeth and Southwark. They work towards an agenda set by the local Safer Neighbourhood panel. The panel solicits views from the local community as to the key local issues that the police should focus on. It may be traffic speeding, dangerous dogs, unlicensed vehicles or a range of issues as put forward by the local community.
As an experiment we have set up a simple voting system to allow everyone to vote on the key priorities for the police in the area. The results of the vote will be used by the Safer Neighbourhood panel to help determine the priorities over the next 3 months.
How does it work?
You can add any issue that concerns you, give it a title and a brief description.
Everyone gets 10 votes that they can cast against the issues that have been listed. You can vote even if you haven't put forward a suggestion of your own. You could cast all your votes for one issue or spread them across numerous ones - it is up to you. The issues that get more support bubble up to the top of the list, those not so popular start to drop down.
At the end of the period we will close the poll and send the results through to the Safer Neighbourhood Panel.
The poll is run on a separate web site and it does require a simple one-off name registration to log in. No other information is required and it is quick to do.
