As a Norwood Road resident I have contacted Lambeth council several times regarding the above issues. Car speedings along the road at 50 mph, and worst still, lorries and buses doing the same speed!!! This is not only dangerous, but it is also causing structural damage to the properties on the road. The surface conditions on the whole are disastrous, which means that when lorries and buses speed past our properties, they cause extreme vibration. So far the council has resurfaced ridiculously small amounts of the road, and only when they have had to carry out gas/water pipe repairs. Is it too much to ask to slow traffic down and consider resurfacing the road. Surely us residents, shouldn't have to pay the price of the council's disinterest with sleelpless nights and "vibrating" homes?
does anyone else live on norwood road and do they experience the same thing?

Hi,
Me and my boyfriend has just moved to Norwood Road and agree about the speed at which cars/lorries/buses go along there. At night especially.... We were saying it would be great if they could put speed bumps along there. The vibration is ridiculous!
I'm not sure what we can do to make this any more bearable - i can't see the council forking out the ££ to resurface the whole road.... Annoying.

I live on Norwood Road and have written to the council several times about the problems caused by traffic speeding down the road. Not once have I had a response from Lambeth Council. Nearby where I live there is a speeding light that is just permanently illuminated because cars are speeding. I have suggested swapping it for a speed camera but as I said, no reply. There was a large accident a few doors down that took out the front gardens of 2 properties and part of the bay window. I can't believe they can ignore it.

Did you get any photographs of the damage done by the accident? It would be good to publicse the repercussions of doing nothing.

I have also written to the council and have had no reply. I have lived in my property for over three years and it seems that both the speeding and the vibrations caused by increasingly bad road conditions are getting worst.
I have noticed that some of Norwood Road has been resurfaced; apparently only the section in front of the park. Unfortunately I live a few yards further down towards Tulse Hill...
I saw the accident you mention, as well as others over the years.
What does everyone think about a petition (possibly an online petition) to the council?
Surely if all Norwood Road residents sign this, then we cannot be ignored!

No I don't have any photos but I imagine the landlord's have pictures taken of the damage for their insurance claim. A petition online sounds a good idea. I have a number of friends living on the road that will sign it.

We live just past the park up towards Tulse Hill and the road surface is really bad outside our house. Yeah, an online petition sounds like the right place to start. Our upstairs neighbours will sign it as well, I'm sure....

I have started an online petition. All we need to do is make sure that all our neighbours sign up to this!! I really believe that Lambeth Council will have to take notice of us, if we get enough people to sign it.
Just following this link and click on "sign the petition": http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/norwoodroad/

Thanks!

Great work Claudia. I've signed it and have forwarded it on to other friends who live locally. We should easily hit 100 hopefully.

Good work! I have also signed it and forwarded it on to people who live on the road.
