'Living Well & Positive Thinking' respite session for carers
Location
If you're a carer in the community of a disabled child or young adult and feel overwhelmed, you may be interested in the last of 3 free 'taster' relaxation sessions for carers at the Brockwell Lido on June 6th. What with new benefit and support cutbacks daily, more and more of care responsibility is falling to individuals and what they can muster. This is usually exhausting responsibility.
Two charities and a Buddhist centre in association with Fusion are offering this class at the Lido for carers of children and young adults who are frail or ill, or have a physical, mental health or learning disability. The organizers recognize the crucial value of people who give in this way and will try to give back on June 6th by teaching relaxation techniques, advising on health matters like diet, and by suggesting other self-help and social activities.
Free coffee and tea will be available at the Lido Cafe after the session.
