New Years Day completely closed. Back to normal hours on Tues. But not to despair: if you want a swim somewhere (or a gym) nearby tonight (Sat), a later game in town is Brixton Rec with last ticket at 7:30pm! Yay! SPA REPORT (at the Lido)! for Dec 28th
SPA REPORT! All working although two of the hydrotherapy pool's key underwater jets (the big floor jet and the bubble beds) remain out of order. But the water was hot yesterday, so if you're looking for a good warmup, bring a book and camp out! Otherwise sauna at 80 and steam OK. Don't forget the premises will close at 8pm tonight Friday night ... shortened hours this week anyway, but earlier Friday closing constitutes the new routine maintenance hours recently established and which will carry forward into the new year.

Jazz On The Hill presents Ingham Swing Ensemble and Jazz Jammers tonight Dec 23rd
The world didn't end on Friday, so come on out for a bit of pre-Xmas celebration tonight at Jazz On The Hill!
The Ingham Swing Ensemble kick things off at 6:30 and go till 8.
Then it is Jazz Jammers from 8:30 till late!
Jazz Jammers is a new "open mic night" idea at Jazz on the Hill and happens every Sunday from 8:30pm. Everyone is welcome to come and get up on stage and perform during this slot, and from this weekly showcase three acts will be chosen for the the once-monthly Saturday night '3 Band Special' when performers split takings on the door - £5 entry!
The inaugural went down very well last week and featured Ben Croft, Gill Holland with Donald Skinner, and Corduroy Trousers ... with the bands getting to share a pretty good door.
Imagine that, Jazz X-Factor at Jazz On The Hill in the square, every Sunday! So come along to Jazz Jammers and take the microphone, or come along and root on contenders! Free entry.

It was a busy weekend at the Lido! Well over 100 strong turned up for the Crisis winter swim on Saturday (weather mild for it!) and the carols poolside went well too (again mild if a little rain). Both events earned money for charities. Pictured below is our Fusion manager Clare Motton collecting donations for carol entry and handing out songsheets!

Lido Spa Report 17th Dec (eve), early spa closing, Xmas hours, gym news

It has been a good week in the Lido spa, with most facilities up and running most of the time - with the possible exception of the hydrotherapy pool which, while hot, sometimes hasn't had all jets firing during underwater and overhead jet rotation. But everything was back back online last night. Sauna's been a bit cool at around 78 to 82 as a matter of course, but the steam room is working well again. Elsewhere still waiting on the showers in the men's changing to be sorted - repair date has been set for the 21 Dec, which has meant nearly a month's wait so far. Not usually a problem unless everyone's trying to take a shower at once - such as at closing.
