Introducing “South London Salad”
If you’re like your salad really fresh and after some baby chard from south of the Shard, or butterhead from near Nunhead, then Local Greens’ new salad bag is just for you.
It’s called South London Salad because it really does come from South London and is part of Local Greens weekly veg bag scheme. We’ve asked Natasha Soares, our Neighbourhood Farm Growing Coordinator, to find a pool of local people who want to grow salad leaves for our salad bag. They get paid and we get the freshest salad in South London, all harvested within a 2.5 mile radius of our customers.

FREE PARENTING PROGRAMME FOR HARD-TO-MANAGE CHILDREN
The TLC team from King's College London are conducting a programme aimed at helping parents manage children's challenging behaviour, including aggression, disobedience and tantrums.
We are looking for families with children aged 3 - 8 who experience these difficulties. This programme has previously achieved good outcomes for children and families, with 81% of children showing significant improvement following treatment based on parent interview.
Eligible families who wish to participate will receive free, non-medication-based treatment by working one-on-one with a therapist in 8 weekly 1-2 hour sessions at the Denmark Hill campus of King's College London. Families are also asked to participate in an assessment before and after treatment to help us evaluate the effectiveness of this programme, and will be reimbursed for their participation.
We will be offering this programme to families from October, 2011 to January, 2013.
If you have any questions about the study, please do not hesitate to email tlc@kcl.ac.uk or contact Kim McGregor (0207 848 5836).

Cambria Choir Concert this Monday evening (Tomorrow!)
The Cambria choir now has over 40 members, and are singing their seasonal concert at the Cambria this Monday evening. It's free of charge and proves hugely popular.
Conducted and arranged by Sarah Fisher and Lucy Davies, the choir are sounding rather fantastic, in preparation for their entry at the Choir of the Year. If you want to eat whilst watching, book a table in advance by calling the Cambria. Expect a varied (and enthusiastic!) programme, from rousing ballads to uplifting pop anthems.
The Cambria is on 40 Kemerton Road, SE5 9AR.
This Monday (14th May) from 8.30pm.

There will be healthy snack pots for kids and at some point home-made doggy snacks for the dog walkers amongst us!
Magda and Gaia are having a trial "tea" run this weekend. Pop by and say hello but do bear in mind that coffee and food won't start until Wednesday.

Lido Modern Movement 2012 official promo & late add - live music weather permitting!
The Modern Movement at the Lido is just days away ... will the weather cooperate!??! It seems last year at this time it was dry and warm! See the official MM promo below. Also breaking news is that after their well-received performance at Dulwich Leisure Centre's inaugural Members' Evening last week, Herne Hill's Ingham Swing Ensemble will be on hand lunchtime (between noon and 1pm) on Sunday to play Cole Porter classics outside in the patio of The Lido Cafe. They'll back onto the pool so folks on hand for Modern Movement can listen. See photo of their expanded ensemble below last week at DLC. They'll be doing the likes of 'I Love Paris', 'Night and Day', 'I Get a Kick Out of You', 'I've Got You Under My Skin' and many more. Cole Porter got his start writing his classics in the 1920s just as the original Modern Movement got its start in Paris in the 1920s and spread throughout Europe during the 30s. So it's a good fit for what we hope will be a great weekend.
